Coming Out of Hibernation
Wednesday will make the two week point in my hospital stay. I must say that the doctors and staff here at the MCV bone marrow transplant have been excellent. At no point in my stay have I ever felt that I had substandard care.
Now for the great news! Dr. Chung told me this morning that if all continues as is, I will be discharged on Thursday or Friday.
I know that God has been working overtime answering all of your prayers. Thanks to God, and thanks to all of my family and friends.

Chris:
I am glad that I’ve happened upon your blog- thanks for sharing your story with us. I wish you blessings and Godspeed during your treatment.
I am originally from the Peninsula (Hampton and Williamsburg), but have lived in the Branson, MO area since 1994. Traveling through your site has given me a nostalgic and unexpected look back at my beautiful home state of Virginia- thanks.
Along with my prayers for you, I want to offer you encouragement to stand strong, one day at a time. As you know, wonderful things are happening in MM treatment and care.
I was diagnosed in November 2008 at 49 years old and am being treated in Little Rock, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. I’ve been through two rounds of high-dose chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants and have just completed my first of two consolidation chemotherapies. In just a few days I will go through kyphoplasty to repair collapsed vertebrae. After the last consolidation I will go back home to Missouri for three years of maintenance treatment. The last nine months have been rugged and difficult, but I am grateful to report that I am in complete reponse/total remission. I hope the same for you.
I will pray for you and all that love you, your doctors, nurses and support teams, and for your fellow patients at MCV.
I look forward to hearing continuing good news from Virginia!

Hi Chris,
I’m grateful to have come accross your blog. I was diagnosed in November 2008. I’m 48 and went to the doctor because of heartburn and came out with cancer… I will be starting the stem cell process in just 2 weeks. To say the least I’m scared and nervous for my family and wish I could fast foward about 6 months. You have given me strength and wish you all the best and speedy recovery.
